This morning was "only" a radiation appointment. This is the way things will normally go. Four of the five treatment days are short because it is radiation alone. On the one other of the 5 days/week of treatment, the appointments include the same, quick radiation time but also the concurrent chemo infusion. This is much longer. They check my blood work. Then they give IV fluids. Then they give IV anti-nausea meds. Then they give you the bag of plutonium. LMAO! The blood/fluid/meds/chemo part is about 2.5 hours.
I still feel completely fine. But, if you saw me right now, you might worry that radiation is frying my face and neck. It isn't (not yet). I talked to a neighbor for 40 minutes outside when I got home. Yep, I have a sunburn. What a dumbass! LOL
Right now, I feel just like I would on any other day. All is well. Psychologically, I am doing fine. Physically, I am doing fine. Even thought I am okay for the moment, I love your well wishes and welcome them. They really do raise me up.
I thought you might like to see what radiation for squamous cell carcinoma looks like. They custom make a mold of your head and use it to bolt you to the table so you cannot move (not an exaggeration). They want the radiation to be accurate to millimeters. The technology really is remarkable.
