Yesterday after posting, I started to feel kinda yucky. Head congestion. Runny nose, scratchy throat. By evening, it definitely felt like I was getting sick. Bonus. Just what I need.
This morning, I went to Walgreens to be tested for Covid and the flu, just in case. Covid positive, flu negative. My Covid virginity has ended. But tell me...how do you get Covid when you wear a mask everywhere you go? Probably just my luck. Cancer and Covid. Let's just double up on the fun!

So, I started messaging and calling doctors on my team. I can still do radiation as long as my symptoms don't make me feel too crappy. I was slated to have the PICC removed today and that, fortunately, was also okay to go ahead with.
On the phone with my PCP clinic, they assessed if I could get the Covid medications. Guess what. Blood thinners seem to contraindicate the Covid meds. They also even prevent me from taking over-the-counter meds for my symptoms. That means no NyQuil. Great. I have a 6pm virtual visit with someone today to confirm all of the above is true.
The radiation for the day got done at 1:45pm. Because of my new condition, all the radiation folks were wearing a "prevent Troy from killing us" garb. I feel bad that I'm complicating their world. After radiation, the PICC was removed (by a chemo nurse wearing the same garb). Things seem to go smoothly. Now I get to hurry up and wait to throw a clot.
At the moment, my Covid symptoms are more annoying than anything else. The other good thing is that I have the weekend to rest up so that radiation treatment doesn't get interrupted. I've already lost chemo and having to stop radiation for even a short time would further diminish the good prognosis.
