October 9

Today I had the follow up with the doctor who originally found my cancer. He did a laryngoscopy to see how my tongue and throat are healing. Actually, a resident did the procedure. Before he did, he asked how I have been doing. I mentioned the 10k from yesterday. Of course, I told him about all the good and the bad since the last radiation appointment on August 28.

After the procedure, the resident went to get Dr. Khariwala. Apparently he must have said something about the 10k. As soon as Dr. Khariwala walked in the room, his first comment was, "10K?!" He went on to say I look great and much better than most of his patients who are at this point in recovery.

From what he saw on the recording of the procedure, things are healing very well. He also saw nothing "suspicious." While we cannot take that as an "all clear," it is a good sign.

On Friday I see the chemo doctor for bloodwork. Hopefully things will look good there too.
